Manage Handwrytten Notes

The attendees were dressed to the nines and the cocktail hour was abuzz with chatter and laughter – everyone seemed excited to be there and anticipating the evening ahead.

There was no shortage of song requests as all of the guests seemed very eager to put in suggestions. I love playing the golden oldies so it was a treat to see song requests like Mack the knife, fly me to the moon, that’s amore, Moon River, and more.

Maddy and I had fun passing solos back-and-forth during our instrumental pre-dinner music portion of the evening. We jammed on tunes ranging from girl from Ipanema to pink pony club.

Reem was a delight, and very pleased and happy with the show. There seemed to be some discord between her plans for the event, and the peculiarities of some of the older members of the Barristers — she asked us to pivot from our Norah Jones/Frank Sinatra “chill” singing to instrumental-only. She made it clear that we were doing great, and if the decision was solely hers to make, we could have carried on as we were.

All told, I don’t think this experience reflected negatively on us, or FnF, as the objections came from attendees, not the actual client (Reem).
