Blog Note 1 | Dinner was “family style” — two long tables, beautifully lit from above by string lights, where guests passed dishes down the line for everyone to get their share. It was a nice communal element! |
Blog Note 2 | During “500 Miles” by The Proclaimers, the guests gathered in a circle and each of them took a turn showing off their dance moves: it was an inter-generational dance party as young and old and everyone in between stepped into the middle of the circle to boogie. |
Blog Note 3 | Both Shelley’s best friend and the groom are both called “Jamie.” The maid of honor gave a speech that was both touching and humorous, where she made reference to how she’d been “Jamie #1” for so long, but how happy she was that Shelley had found another Jamie that she married him. |
Other Notes | Bad traffic caused a late set-up, but it did not affect the gig in any way. We were able to set up during dinner without being disruptive. Music started and ended on time — in fact, they wanted us to play longer, but we stopped due to venue policies. |
