Blog Note 1

The event center at the Carrolton Inn was easy to find, and with some helpful volunteer door-holders setup was a breeze. We played on one end of a long ballroom, the whole thing set up beautifully by the hospital party organizers.

Blog Note 2

We met with Lydia from Stewart Memorial Hospital during setup, who offered us a sit down dinner at the hotel restaurant! This was so generous, but we opted for the buffet to stay close and be ready on the music. This worked out great as the buffet was delicious, with some perfectly done brisket.

Blog Note 3

The 40 minute program, with lots of multimedia presentations and thank-you's, was all done on the other end of the ballroom, with a projection screen, house sound and their own wireless mic, so we only had to wait our turn and start our part of the show.

Blog Note 4

This crowd wanted to party and dance, full stop. It's not an exaggeration to say that we had dancers from start to finish. Looked like one or two actual trained dancers, shout out to Peg! Their energy fueled the show all night long.

Blog Note 5

The highlights for me were a killer line dance to my rendition of "Boot Scootin' Boogie" and an epic "Summer Lovin' " with a multi-generation crowd of ladies singing (see main pic). People who work at hospitals, by which I mean nurses, all the staff, and even some MDs and higher ups, really know how to get down and party together after their hard work is done, and it was a blast to play for them.
