There were multiple large competing events the same night which meant attendance was low. The venue manager also didn’t realize we could plug into the house mains so the outside guests and restaurant guests in the other side of the bar could hear us.

The owners were very pleased with the show, however, and said they want us back again at their multiple locations.

My player partner was not a good fit for this type of show. We needed high energy to get the few people who did interact to continue doing so. Every time I finished a song that people were dancing to, she played a ballad or an overly embellished down tempo intro that wasn’t the real intro to the song. There were very few key drums to keep the energy going. It was frustrating to say the least.
