Blog Note 1 | The venue, New Ulm's Turner Hall, is a beautiful and historic town hall. Venue manager Andrea was on site with the bar staff and catering, and helped us find our best load-in entrance and power. |
Blog Note 2 | Candice, our contact with the Gislason and Hunter law firm, met us a few minutes later and went over dinner details and the evening's program. |
Blog Note 3 | The program for the night was light, just a few speeches and awards, and we were into the show. Candice was great about keeping us in the loop with announcements, and giving us a head-up as to when the party bus back to Mankato was leaving (which was the unofficial end to the evening, as most of the attendees exited on the bus). |
Blog Note 4 | Candice explained that the group wanted a show emphasizing more comedic banter than dancing, and that the attending lawyers would likely be in and out of the show area during the performance, which was understandable given the separate-room layout of Turner Hall, its beautiful old bar and upstairs bourbon tasting room. |
Blog Note 5 | Despite the roaming crowd, we had a good core of tables enjoying the show all the way up until the party bus left. Eric engaged them immediately with his witty banter, bestowing cute nicknames on our most eager crowd-participants. I had the most fun with the firm's IT specialist, whose request "Bye Bye Bye" I quickly improvised into "Call the IT Guy". |
