Blog Note 1 | The fundraiser was held at the event barn on the Ringgold county fairgrounds, which is tough for GPS to find! Luckily Kevin shared a satellite shot and we were able to take the right gravel and dirt roads and started load in on time. |
Blog Note 2 | Jodie with the venue and Tracy with the RG County Development Corp were on site to help us. Jodie showed us all the improvements the barn had undergone in the last year, including big heaters that ran all day to raise the temp in the roomy space, and the new foam insulation on the ceiling which really helped the acoustics. |
Blog Note 3 | Jodie blocked us off 2 spaces at her table, and made sure we ate near the beginning of dinner service. Big thanks to the crew of cowboys serving up the beef! Nothing beats a nice prime rib, served thick and rare. |
Blog Note 4 | Tracy had told us they wanted more dancing and requesting than last year, and we started off high energy with some top songs, being sure to drop several reminders that the show was all-request and that all tips were going to the cause. It didn't take long, maybe 10 minutes, before our piano tops were filled with songs and cash. |
Blog Note 5 | Country and classic rock were the biggest hits with this crowd. Highlights included getting all the women, especially Tracy, singing Summer Lovin', and raising $100 with a single AC/DC song. The whole barn was shouting "Dirty deeds and they're done dirt cheap!" along with me. |
Other Notes | Players should know this venue is tough to find, the satellite photo was essential in not being late. |
