Handwrytten - Felix And Fingers Dueling Pianos

Manage Handwrytten Notes

Gig Score from player (1-5)4

For downtown gigs and gigs with large piano shells and difficult loading in and parking we need more than two hours for load in, and more than 60mins for load out. We booked it and got the load in done in 1hr and 45mins but guest were allowed in at that point and we hadn’t changed or finished putting away cases and gear. It was a little unprofessional. The load out took 90mins. It wasn’t a problem but at some venues it could have been. I prefer approval for 2.5-3hrs setup before guests arrives and 75-90mins for tear down.

Blog Note 1

The best part of the night is when the audience of primarily 50-70 year olds voluntarily started a conga line on the requested song Pretty Woman. This was atypical and I made the most of it by mashing it up with the banana boat song. Lots of dancing commenced.

Blog Note 2

This team had a group called the PIPS which included all the former presidents of the fundraising organization. The PIPS did an excellent job performing Do Re Mi as the PIP-ETTS.

Blog Note 3

One form president came up and acted as choreographer for the Village People. An epic version of the YMCA took place with some very engaging disco dancing.

Blog Note 4

Tod Kimbro did a fast version of Rocky Top and the audience loved it. Everyone stood up clapping l, hooting and hollering. and even made a small circle up front of stage where two woman trades off country dancing and clogging.

Blog Note 5

We had an uncle come up with her niece trading dancing out front with some vintage dance moves, I believe during staying alive. The best part was after the uncle dropped it like it was hot he did a back flip which surprised everyone who cheered, then the 11 yr old niece stepped in doing the worm and finished with a pair of epic back flips herself.

Other Notes

we did raised and donate $1205 in cash for the organization and they seemed very happy. All in all this portion of their fundraising event with ticket sales and our tip donations raised approximately $6000 for the cause.
