I think I can do a better job as DJ, but the piano show was GREAT! Started off slow, but once we were about 45 minutes into the gig, the requests were flowing and the guests were super happy! Fun people, and generous too!

Classic rock and pop hits were a big hit at this gig. We even got a healthy handful of folks on the dance floor in the last hour. Mainly, these folks were just into the music.

This event was the culmination of the big annual golf tournament at Manito, their biggest event of the year. Awards were presented outside before dinner commenced.

In addition to the usual classics, these folks enjoyed some off the beaten path songs. Quinn's rendition of Nina Simone's "Sinnerman" was a big hit. They loved my rendition of Concrete Blonde's "Joey." But it was Radiohead's "Creep" that got one of the biggest responses of the whole night.

The arrangement of the dining space allowed for dancing, direct interaction, or private chats away from all the action. Everyone seemed to get what they needed out of the performance. When the crow thinned slightly, music enthusiasts moved towards the center of the space for sing-along, cheering, and dancing. And the folks who were just enjoying their friends were off to the side. Still, many of the people on the sides were engaged and were actively requesting.

This was a more casual affair than I was expecting, and the informality really worked. It was a friendly event, full of down-to-earth folks who just wanted a good time.
