Handwrytten - Felix And Fingers Dueling Pianos

Manage Handwrytten Notes

Gig Score from player (1-5)4

As this was my first time with the Felix & Fingers style show, there are mostly personal improvements to make; Song cues, drum beat variety, using banter to give my partner a moment to pick their next song, gear set up strategy, ect. We ran our systems through mono channels and I may try and find a way to use stereo next time to see if the sound improves.

Blog Note 1

The venue employees were so kind and thoughtful! They made sure we had a lovely dinner and even got the requests started with Shake It Off by Taylor Swift

Blog Note 2

I don't think I've ever played a show with so many guest putting in request right off the bat, I had a small list of go-to songs in case I ran out, but I never actually needed it

Blog Note 3

The room was wonderful, there was plenty of space between the tables that the guests took advantage of to dance. Not to mention the stage was a perfect size as to have enough room, but not so vast people felt unsure about coming up to hand over more requests

Blog Note 4

A great moment of the night was Don't Fear the Reaper. It took me a few tries to find the cowbell on the piano, but once I got it the crowd went wild!

Blog Note 5

Some of Tod Kimbro's crowd interactions had me in stitches, his extended call and response on the Banana Boat Song in particular. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay Oh!
