Wisconsin office Party at Dousman House

Wisconsin office Party at Dousman House

Pulling up to Dousman House in Prairie du Chien, WI, we were excited to be the evening’s entertainment. The event was a Wisconsin office party and because it was almost Christmas, there were plenty of decorations to set the mood. Inside were Christmas trees and wreaths, and plenty of tables for all the guests. The high vaulted ceilings and exposed wood reminded me of the fur trading history of the region. It turns out the Dousman House was at one time a hotel and it had been restored and turned into a venue.

The company we were playing for was Crossing Rivers Health, a healthcare company. They had just changed their name to Crossing Rivers. When we inquired about the name change, they told me it refers to their two office buildings, one in Iowa and one in Wisconsin, located across the river from each other.

Dousman house set up the venue professionally and had enough space for all the tables required. The event was an extremely large party and everyone had been working for Crossing Rivers for a number of years. Turns out, the event was being held to honor the longest employees there. The company had just completed a new hospital and there was plenty to celebrate. The party was more than a simple meet and greet. The gathering was an elaborate awards party, dedicated to the lifelong commitment of their staff There were personalized awards and hilarious speeches recognizing each individuals commitment.

As the drinks continued, our music became more of the party centerpiece. We like being in charge of the revelry but we had to compete with a Badger’s game on TV. Dousman House has a well-constructed bar that reminded us of a Game of Thrones TV set. Not people who easily give up, we decided to play some modern music and fill the dance floor anyway.

Our most successful act was when we had some of the female guests dancing on stage with us. Playing “Baby Got Back” filled the dance floor and kept the party going all night.
