Milford Hills Hunt Club – How has it taken us so long to get here! When it comes to wedding venues, there are few that can compete with the beautiful grounds of a hunt club. From the ceremony through to the end of the night, Milford Hills Hunt Club provided the perfect canvas for making memories.
Ceremonies at Milford Hills
We’ve done a lot of ceremonies…and I mean a lot! This is one of my all time favorites for a few reasons:
- The grounds are beautiful. Getting married where the alter overlooks a beautiful scenic backdrop is hard to beat. It was practically impossible to take a bad picture.
- There was a great deck for us to set up on, which is always helpful for sound. Being higher than the crowd and broadcasting the speaker downwards helps acoustically. This means it’s now not too loud in the front and too quiet in the back.
- On the deck was a porch swing. This is the first time I was able to sit in a shaded porch swing playing for a ceremony with an unbeatable view. I’ll play weddings here every weekend!
A Johnson Creek Reception
Milford Hills opened up it’s back patio for the cocktails, along with the rest of the building, so that people could mingle. Cocktails have a tendency to drag on, but when you have the opportunity to go outside, play a yard game, or move inside (bars in all locations), it helps to move things along.
Dinner was then amazing. First, this is a hunt club, so of course you have trophy animals everywhere. I mean, who doesn’t want to eat with a polar bear perched behind them?!? Second, the food was really well made, so that’s a plus!
Where as dinner is usually when we keep things laid back with jazz music, this crowd was ready to party from the get go. We had people singing a long and even had one of the mother’s lip syncing, complete with a dummy microphone. The dancing was going to be great!
And it was! This crowd danced from the first song and didn’t stop. Request after request, this was one of those wedding parties who just want to celebrate and have a great time!
Milford Hills Hunt Club
Quick note about the super friendly staff and well maintained venue. Wedding venues see a lot of traffic, but despite the lodge decor, Milford Hills was beautiful and worthy of anyone’s wedding. The staff couldn’t be nicer either, and when your wedding hinges on the staff’s ability to serve your guests, this is a huge plus!
Katie Ricard Photography
It’s always great to make new friends at weddings, and this wedding introduced Mike S and me to Katie Ricard Photography. Katie was so easy to work with and provided all the pictures for this post. Check out her site. Check out these pictures. She’s a pro and does great work – definitely worth the time to reach out!
