Felix and Fingers returned to one of our favorite venues for The Box MKE Wedding Event. We’ve played here before and were happy to hear that we were booked again for this loft style venue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Congratulations to our bride and groom on a wonderful wedding day!

The Box MKE Wedding Event

The Box in Milwaukee is a great storefront venue right in the heart of downtown. This is a versatile space of 3000 square feet with an open concept. You can configure this space into any format that meets your needs. We would describe the style as vintage industrial with modern accents. The Box MKE Wedding Event venuefamous Milwaukee Cream City brick is prominent on many of the walls. In addition, the polished wood floors and high loft ceilings gives it a spacious and airy feeling with a hint of sophistication.

You may bring your own caterer in and they also have a list of carefully curated vendors for you. Our couple chose an excellent caterer who provided a delicious taco bar. That is a bit unusual for a wedding but we loved it! The staff at The Box was super helpful too. The ceremony was supposed to take place outside at a nearby park but the weather didn’t cooperate. The staff set us up perfectly inside for the last minute change and even brought out decorations so the dance floor would look more like a ceremony space. Oldies but Goodies

Immediately after the first dance, the bride and groom wanted us to do the anniversary dance. This is when all married couples come to the floor. We intermittently shout out years married and if you haven’t been married that long, you have to leave the floor. The last couple standing had been Box MKE Wedding Event dance floormarried for 55 years! What a great example to set for our newly married couple. After that, oldies seemed to rule the night during our dueling piano portion of the evening. We love playing songs that everyone knows and are sure to get people out on the dance floor. This crowd was requesting songs such as Chubby Checker’s The Twist, Marvin Gaye’s I Heard it Through the Grapevine, and Reach Out and Touch from Diana Ross.

Speaking of the dance floor, this group was ready to dance all night long. We often report in our blogs that our audiences filled the dance floor, but this group was exceptional. They really rocked it. Perhaps it was our drummer. Did you know you can add a drummer to your dueling piano performance? It really adds a lot to our already great show and kicks up the energy level with a whole new vibe. We not only have the option of adding a drummer, but even more instruments for that full band sound. After our dueling piano show, we switched over to the DJ portion of the evening and instead of oldies, hip hop became the genre of choice. It was a fun night all around at The Box MKE wedding event!
