Geneva National Resort is among one of Felix and Fingers favorite venues. All the weddings are beautiful, and this one was no exception. However, it was a little more unique than usual, as it was the first Wednesday wedding we’ve played! The couple and their guests took advantage of the gorgeous grounds for the week, so the Wednesday date worked wonderfully.
Fall in Lake Geneva
Although the Midwest can be cold in October, never overlook Geneva National Resort for a fall wedding. The fall foliage is a beautiful backdrop to celebrate your special day, which can be seen at the Mitchell wedding. They even booked an outdoor ceremony to create the perfect fall photo for when they said “I do.” The weather was gorgeous with only a slight breeze, and everyone was joyous to celebrate the newlyweds.
Food & Dancing
After the ceremony, the resort staff treated the guests with delicious hors d’oeuvres including a miniature BLT plated like bruschetta. Then came the music and dancing. We loved playing for this wedding, as they were such an energetic group. The father of the bride even gave us our favorite compliment: that we look like we are having fun while playing! We always are, and it makes us happy to know it shines through.
Throughout the evening we received requests to play the song called The Verb To Love. While we couldn’t play it on the pianos, we made sure to play it during our DJ set. It turned out to be a family favorite, and the entire family was on the dance floor, singing every word. The bride and groom seemed especially happy, smiling with all their friends and family, celebrating their wedding day.
In addition to a gorgeous venue and wonderful wedding, the staff was extremely helpful. From setting the grounds for the ceremony to assisting us with our equipment set up, they were there to help.
