Elks Clubs have long served us well when it comes to weddings. There’s just something more relaxed about an Elks Club that helps everyone have a better time and we absolutely love these events!
Janesville Elks Lodge
The Janesville Elks Lodge, located in Janesville WI (go figure!) as a great space for any event. For this wedding, the couple decided to have the ceremony outside on the lawn. We all then moved cocktails inside to the huge bar area followed dinner in a long dining hall. The dance floor for dueling pianos was in the center of it all!
Clinking Glasses
It’s been discussed in our other blogs, but the concept of “clinking glasses” to get a bride and groom to kiss is considered by some to be…obnoxious. Good news though! You can actually encourage people not to “clink” but introducing an alternative. This couple opted for what we call “kissing by example”.
Kissing by Example is just as it sounds. If you want the newlyweds to kiss, simply approach the head table and kiss someone else the way the bride and groom must kiss each other. Though not for the faint of heart, this is one of our favorite alternatives and this wedding crowd didn’t fail to get creative!
Dueling Pianos Dance Party
This was such a fun down-to-earth wedding. We love our big city weddings, Chicago and Milwaukee venues, but when you get far enough away from the big cities the feel changes. And when dueling pianos is an interactive wedding concept, it helps when guests actually want to have fun. The Janesville Elks Club wedding embodied this!
The party danced all night and the wedding was nothing short of a really wonderful evening!
