Felix and Fingers recently dueled at the first annual Christkindlmarket in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin. Century Farms, a beloved event space for weddings, graduation parties and community gatherings, hosted Christkindlmarket. For more information about the event, please click here. Christkindlmarket
On a balmy, fifty-degree day in early December, residents of Mount Horeb gathered at Century Farm. Yellowed grass shone as the sun peaked through the clouds, and the smells of cinnamon and pine hung in the air. Christmas lights decorated trees in main area around the barn and wreaths hung from the side of the building. Our pianos were situated in a little stage area along the barn’s outer wall. One of the vendors near us was selling hot chocolate and offered us a couple glasses before our set. It was delicious!
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
While everyone shopped through the tents and stalls housing boutiques, we played our set. We could hear everyone humming along, so throughout our set, we asked people to sing along with their favorites. To our delight, many shoppers stopped to share their voice with us. Some toddlers even danced for us as we dueled. One little boy pushed the rest of the kids back and busted some moves for the crowd. When he was finished, everyone clapped for him, and he took a deep bow before running to his parents. Felix and Fingers had a merry time at Christkindlmarket, and we hope to be invited back next year! A big thank you to Ashley Bentley, the event coordinator, for the success of this day.
