On an unseasonably chilly October day in Houston, Texas, Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos played a public show for the Sugarland Haute Halloween. We performed outside of one of the buildings in the Sugar Land Town square. Despite the chilly weather for Houston, we still had a good turnout from those out and about.
Sugarland Haute Halloween
This show lasted from 7:30-9:30 and we always love opportunities to play public shows, especially in this beautiful town square right off of 69 (Southwest Freeway) and Route 6. Bar Louie sponsored the event and set up an outdoor bar to sell drinks to guests. Additionally, the Houston Astros played in the World Series that evening so the bar across the street cheered pretty loudly throughout the entire night, all adding to the excitement of the night. The atmosphere was relatively casual and allowed us to interact with the audience in different ways than our corporate events. We always like playing games, cracking jokes, and taking all sorts of different requests as people stop by.
Music in the Square
Throughout the evening we received several requests for Disney songs, including “Under the Sea” from the Little Mermaid and “Let It Go” from Frozen. We enjoyed seeing little kids dancing and singing at the top of their lungs. Moreover, we played our classic and famous “letter game” with several duos including parents and their kids. Everyone had so much fun and a particularly memorable duo that dressed up as characters from Harry Potter would use their wands to help them play the letter game as the contestants form letters with their bodies. Overall we had a great turnout! It seemed like everyone had a great time with the Sugarland Haute Halloween show.
