Love Family And Friends
The ceremony called for mostly contemporary Christian music songs, including lots of Christian worship music for the pre-service music. Further, the mother of the groom was so excited to hear Kari Kobe’s Revelation Song. The couple had a special song that we sang during the ceremony for the blessing of the rings. It was neat. The bride and groom, along with their kids, had a cute family dance to Blake Shelton’s song Honeybee. It was a really touching moment. Instead of doing the bouquet toss the couple wanted us to sing Still the One by Orleans and they had all the married couples come out on the dance floor. They had people who had been married for less than 5 years leave the dance floor and so on until the couple that had been married the longest was the last couple out on the floor.
Seventies dance hits were the songs that lit up the dance floor. Even the young kids like dancing to We Are Family by Sister Sledge and September by Earth, Wind & Fire. The groom, the bride and their kids got out and danced to Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’ by Journey. To be honest, they really liked Journey. Further, the bride’s mom loved Billy Joel so she asked us to play some and they took her out on the dance floor in her wheelchair so she could dance too. All of our tips went to the American Cancer Society and the groom talked about his journey with cancer which was why it was something important to him. The bride and groom enjoyed their final dance of the night to Coldplay’s Sky Full of Stars privately before heading out to their limo ride home.
