Lake Affect Studios Transforms into Whatever You Want
Lake Affect Studios is one of the most unique wedding venues I’ve played in. I’m not 100% positive of the back story, but it seems like the owners took an old warehouse, fixed it up, and created a blank canvas of a wedding space. You could literally do whatever you wanted in these rooms and it would look amazing! According to their website, their central location in combination with the re-purposing of dynamic warehouse space promises to make Lake Affect Studios a destination for people all over Northeast Ohio. Their goal is to create an artistic environment that not only nurtures creativity and passion with in its own walls, but also impacts and ‘affects’ the community around it. I could definitely see this as I walked in.
Lake Affect Studios and the Amazing Staff
Amanda, one of the owners of the Lake Affect Studios (along with her husband Dan) was there when we arrived. She was also incredibly helpful while we were planning our trip. I should mention that Lake Affect Studios is in Cleveland, so it was about a six hour drive from Chicago. We e-mailed her the week of the wedding to discuss logistics, and she replied with a lot of details that really helped us! Amanda and Dan were there all night, helping run the bar, and making sure everything was going smoothly. You can tell they truly care about their reputation and you shouldn’t hesitate to reach out to them if you are planning an event in Northern Ohio!
Party Time at Lake Affect Studios
This was an awesome wedding, and it was made all the better by the fact that we had hired a local drummer, Rick Tyler, to play the show with us. We don’t often use drummers, so it was a real treat to have someone like him backing us up. It’s always a nice addition to add a drummer to your wedding if you can. We don’t need one, but it frees us up to do even more interactions with the crowd! We had been told that this couple was really into hip hop and 90’s music, so we hit them hard with it for our whole show! The dance floor was packed all night, and we never wanted the party to end! Unfortunately, I had to teach in Chicago in the morning, so we needed to eventually leave and begin our all-night 6 hour drive back home.

I’m not joking – if you are getting married or need to host an event in Cleveland, do yourself a favor and check these guys out. You won’t regret it. And if you do decide to hold an awesome party, make sure you contact Felix and Fingers to give you the best entertainment imaginable!
