Dover OH is host to a gorgeous Wedding Venue and Winery, The Breitenbach Winery & Vineyard. As far as wedding receptions are concerned, it’s hard to beat a winery/barn/vineyard/high end banquet hall. Specifically, this venue was the “Breitenbach Tool Shed”, but it wasn’t as the name implies.
What is a tool shed? I mean, if it isn’t a shed filled with tools…
I have to admit… I was a little concerned that the venue I was driving to was called The Tool Shed. Breitenbach Wine Cellars sounds pretty legit, but what could the Tool Shed possibly be? How to best describe it… I was basically a totally decked out barn. Completely modern and fully furnished. It has wine barrels on all the walls, and a great upstairs area where you can look down on the whole wedding. This was one of my first weddings since hurting my leg, and since I was still in a cast and using crutches, I didn’t actually get to see the view from upstairs. I assume it was awesome.
Oh yeah – and there were Christmas lights everywhere. Once the sun went down it looked spectacular.
Party Time at Breitenbach Wine Cellars
I knew it was going to be a great party when the wedding party entered to “Old Time Rock and Roll.” No offense to current pop music, but it was nice to get something classic for a change. Mike Potts emceed like a pro while my leg kept me confined to my piano bench. I love to emcee, so I’m glad I’m up and moving again. All of our F & F players are trained to totally run the show. We do everything from announcing the bridal party, to introducing speech givers, to making fun of that cousin who keeps requesting Ice Ice Baby. Don’t get me wrong… we’ll play it, but I’m still going to make fun of him. We take care of everything your typical DJ might handle, but with the added bonus of having live music!
There was one person missing from the festivities. The Best Man is in the Navy and was deployed in Afghanistan at the time of the wedding. The groom gave a toast in his place, and we certainly wish him well. My dad was a in the Navy, so I have a lot of respect for them and all our military men and women. We were totally ready to play “In the Navy” if requested!
What Song Will Make the Breitenbach Wine Cellars Shake?
There was one song that really shook the building (not literally). As anyone in Ohio knows, the Ohio State fight song isn’t as important as another special song. We were warned it would get requested, and it did several times. C’mon…. you know the words! “Haaaaaang on Sloopy. Sloopy hang on! O! H! I! O!” It may as well be the Ohio National Anthem. I’m a Cincinnati boy myself, so I know it more than anyone.
We had a blast at the Breitenbach Wine Cellars, and everyone else did too. If you want a unique wedding venue, check them out. And if you want your wedding to rock, get in touch with us today. You’ll be glad you did! 🙂
