A Norlyn Manor Wedding

Headed Home…

I grew up in Cincinnati, OH, so I always love the chance to go back there. My best friend’s sister was getting married so I was asked to come and emcee and DJ the whole event at Norlyn Manor. It was a change from my usual dueling pianos duties, but it was still a blast nonetheless!

Though we specialize in dueling pianos, there are many different ways we can provide you with wedding entertainment.

Norlyn Manor

I play at dozens of weddings every year, and see a lot of venues, particularly around the Chicago area. It’s always great to see an awesome venue that I’ve never even heard of before. The only other venue I had played in Cincinnati was the Rhinegeist brewery, which was an fun place. The Norlyn Manor, on the other hand, was incredibly classy! We were in the grand ballroom, which looked right out on a field surrounded by trees. The ceremony was outside, and they were married on a gazebo. It was a beautiful day for a wedding at Norlyn Manor, surrounded by the live sounds of a violin player.

Since I knew the bride, it was great to actually play at a wedding where people I knew were in attendance. I love making new friends every week, but being surrounded by people I already knew was a nice change of pace!

Party Time at Norlyn Manor

Honestly, DJing this wedding at Norlyn Manor was a piece of cake. I’m used to having to sing and play piano all night. I’m usually out of breath and out of a voice at every wedding. DJing is much simpler. I still have to program the songs to play, but pressing “play” is a lot easier than pressing “88 keys” hundreds of times! 🙂

I still utilized our dueling pianos concept of an all request show. I put out slips of paper, and everyone was able to request any song they wanted. It was pretty cool seeing how everyone requests the same songs we normally see at our dueling pianos weddings.
