On our crazy run of holiday shows, we recently found ourselves for the second year running in Akron, Ohio playing for the Akron Auto Auction at Prime Anthes. Say that five times fast. For whatever reason, the owner of the company just can’t seem to get enough of us. We’ve played his wedding, last years holiday party, his friend’s bar/restaurant, “Prime Anthes,” and most recent our second holiday party with them. Can you say addicted? That’s ok with us, though. Besides, addiction is healthy if it’s a good thing, right! Moving on…
The set up…
The party went great! Talk about a diverse set of tunes, though! We had request coming in like hot cakes. We saw everything from “anything Russian,” to boogie-woogie!, to the electric slide, to German polka music, and, of course, Christmas tunes. At one point, we were “the audience” and witnessed some of the auctioneers do their “thang” on the microphone. Man those guys talk fast. We were certainly kept on our toes, but it ended up being a wonderful sequel to last year’s party. Everyone was laughing and singing, the owner was happy once again, and we successfully kept an auctioneer on the dance floor for 99.7% of the night. The .3% was spent finding drinks and eating (he eats fast).
DANCE PARTY!
We love it when we walk into a venue that has a well-laid out and spacious dance floor. Such was the case at Prime Anthes. Our gauge for whether we’re putting on a good show is often measured on the dance floor. It’s like an ongoing game throughout the entire night to see how long we can keep everyone out there. If anyone tries to leave, we do our best to “charm” whoever it is back onto the dance floor in whatever way we can, be it joke, different song, or threatening to stop the show unless they come back that very instant… As you can see, we LOVE a to keep a good dance party going, so if you are looking for a fun, high energy show that will keep your guests dancing all night long, why not go with Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos?
