The Silo Banquets and Catering was the home for this Ostego Athletic Boosters Fundraiser. Being one of the biggest and best banquet facilities in Western Michigan, it was the perfect venue for this very fun event.
The Silo Banquets and Catering at The Grill House
Felix and Fingers goes to all sorts of venues with our shows and we found this one to be especially unique and fun. At the Grill House restaurant, you can become your own grill master with their excellent selection of steaks. We weren’t able to experience that part but our audience told us we have to come back and try it. The grounds are superb and the old silo is especially unique. The venue is spacious and the courtyard is the perfect spot for spring and summer entertainment. In addition, we found the staff to be excellent, truly excellent. Ostego Athletic Boosters Fundraiser
The Ostego Athletic Boosters Fundraiser was on the same night as the Michigan/Michigan State basketball game. You can be assured that we were ready with both fight songs. University fight songs are always popular with the dueling piano crowd and tend to bring in a lot of tips. We love it and if we don’t know your school’s fight song, we’ll learn it for sure. This group was a little slow on requesting so our performers had to do some 
work figuring out what they liked. They finally decided that this was definitely a 70’s Disco and R & B crowd. Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive and The Trampps’ Disco Inferno were huge hits. And I Heard it Through the Grapevine by Marvin Gaye was a sure thing in getting people out on the dance floor.
Our Felix and Fingers Dueling Piano professionals, Chris and Greg, also received a request for The Door’s Light My Fire. That made Greg very happy since it is not a song for which we usually have requests. Our sound system worked especially well for the audience as Chris had some new compact QSC monitors that we used. That was especially helpful as the banquet room was huge. With these monitors, the sound spread out everywhere except to where we would have needed it most – in our ears. But that’s okay since the crowd heard every single song lyric. We have to say that this group was a little slow to rock the dance floor but once we got them going, they were not stopping any time soon. What a great night it was raising money for the Ostego High School Athletic Boosters.
