There are pictures of me as a baby sitting next to my dad at the family piano, so the piano was naturally going to be part of my destiny.  I started with classical piano lessons, and even played with the Austin Symphony Orchestra when I was 17! But I knew my love of popular music and the songs I was hearing on the radio overpowered any desire I had for a career in classical music, so I went to Berklee College of Music in Boston to study jazz and contemporary music.  It was at the end of my college tenure that I played at the Encore Lounge in the Tremont Hotel, my first piano bar experience.  The Encore was more cabaret than rock ‘n roll, but when my duo partner and I busted out Queen, Led Zeppelin, and other unlikely piano bar tunes, an article about us was featured in the Boston Globe as a local show to pay attention to.

A short time later, I was asked to join a touring all-girl country/rock band out of Nashville. So I packed up my keyboard for the “Athens of the South” and I have lived in and worked out of Nashville ever since.  I toured as a side-woman with artists such as Laura Bell Bundy, Heidi Newfield, Krystal Keith, Jenn Bostic, and I’ve toured as myself as well.

The last several years have brought me back to being out front – and behind the piano – in solo and dueling piano bars all over the world: in Norway, the Caribbean, in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, and all over the United States!  I love the engagement with the audience that the piano bar encourages, and when song requests come in ranging anywhere and everywhere from “oldies” to 1990s.
