Born and raised in Ohio, Ian graduated from Wright State University with a degree in Acting. He moved to New York City to pursue a career in theater, and was promptly cast as a singer on his first of fifteen cruise ship contracts. Since 2016, he has traveled to over 50 countries. He has kayaked alongside icebergs in Alaska, swam with sharks in Tahiti, searched for trolls in the Norwegian fjords, strolled the palaces in St. Petersburg, sipped mojitos in Curaçao, bathed in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, hid in a Hobbit Hole in New Zealand, attended an opera in Vienna, snorkeled in the Seychelles, cruised the canals in Venice, climbed a thousand steps on the Great Wall of China, pet kangaroos in Australia, skydived in Honolulu, skinny-dipped in Japan, and sat at Freddie Mercury’s piano in Zanzibar.
In his career in the United States, Ian has amassed over 50 theatrical credits and performed in two dozen states as an actor, singer, and pianist. He served as Music Director at the famed NYC Cabaret and Supper Club, 54 Below, and spent 18 months sailing the Mississippi River as the Cruise Director on the American Countess. He met his wife Eva while at sea in 2017, and got married in New York on March 3, 2020, thirteen days before the world shut down. They spent their honeymoon in lockdown in Harlem, and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina at the beginning of 2021, where they are now homeowners! Ian loves Indian food, is a Cincinnati Reds megafan (for better or for worse), and he does the New York Times crossword puzzle every day.
