When you go to a Dueling Pianos show, you will probably first thing of songs like “Piano Man,” “Don’t Stop Believing,” and “Sweet Caroline.” Those are always a safe bet as far as requests go, but there are some pretty popular dueling pianos rap songs that usually go over pretty well. Especially if you are at a Felix and Fingers show. Here are some of my personal favorites:
Gin and Juice is a great song for Dueling Pianos. Not only is it pretty funny, but it’s actually a great sing-along. Whenever I do it, the whole audience shouts out “With my mind on my money, and my money on my mind!”
I think this one goes without saying. Pretty much everyone knows at least the first verse or two to this song. It also encourages people who aren’t good dancers to get out and dance. Even the most terrible of dance moves seems to work when Vanilla Ice is rapping. I even have a special dance I do to this song. If you ever see me, ask me about it. And if you are lucky, we might even mash this up with Vanilla Ice’s other hit song… “Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go!!!”
Now I need to preface this by saying, honestly, this song is terrible. It’s so bad however, that it works perfectly as a dueling pianos rap song. The whole place will be belting out “Yoouuuu…. you go what I need. But you say he’s just a friend. And you say he’s just a friend, OH BABY!!!”
The mack daddy of all dueling pianos rap songs. Even if someone isn’t paying attention, they’ll still turn their head and shout out “My anaconda don’t want none unless you got buns, hun!” The song is even more appropriate in the modern day, because we can now mash it up with “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj.
Dueling Pianos Rap Bonus Song:
This one isn’t always a song that everyone can pull off, but if you ever see me (Mike Sherman) at a gig, be sure to request this. It’s definitely best dueling pianos rap song. I guess there’s a little Slim Shady in all of us. Well, in me anyways.
