Another Haight Wedding
We have a long standing relationship with The Haight in Elgin. We’ve played here quite a bit and love it each and every time. This converted loft/warehouse is perfect for today’s modern couples. The building dates from 1890 and, as such, is full of vintage charm. You will find exposed brick walls, timber ceiling beams, and wood plank floors that all work together for that chic industrial vintage style that is wildly popular these days. Besides the super chic vibe, one of the main reasons we love The Haight is its staff. They are always top notch and incredibly helpful to us. Loading in and setting up our equipment takes a lot of work and we love that they have such knowledgeable help. Not only do they help us, but we always keep an eye on how the staff works with the guests and this group really knows what they’re doing. They handle large groups with ease. If you’re looking for one of the best wedding and reception venues in the area, The Haight is sure to please.
Swipe Right for True Love
Felix and Fingers sees a lot of brides and grooms and we don’t think we’ve ever seen a couple so in love before. And not only that, they met on Tinder five years ago. So perhaps it is possible to find your true love by swiping right. Arik made a huge gesture for his bride that had everyone in tears. Literally, everyone. The staff at the Haight was crying, we were crying, the guests were crying, and the bride was truly blown away by the thoughtfulness of her new husband. After his welcome speech, he showed a ten minute video he had created. He had spliced together videos he had taken of her over the years and videos of their vacations. He ended the presentation with a video of his proposal. He’s pretty creative and proposed by writing her a Dr. Suess style children’s book because she’s a teacher. If that’s not love, we don’t know what is!
Cellos, Drums, and Dueling Pianos
We were so happy to play for another Haight wedding because we love the venue, but also because we were able to perform with a cellist during the ceremony. Our couple had hired him and we worked with him to create and get arrangements for the ceremony. The result was truly beautiful. Did you know Felix and Fingers will play for your ceremony? We love that part of our job as it is so special to be a part of your wedding vows. Then it was time for the reception and along with our dueling pianos, we had a drummer.
Hiring a drummer is a great choice and really adds to our performance. It’s not too expensive of an addition and you really get a lot of bang for your buck, so to speak. We work with some awesome drummers and as more people experience this, we are receiving more and more requests for it. No problem for us as we love playing along with some nice percussion. All in all, this was one of the most fun and special wedding celebrations we have been a part of.

If you could have seen the guests dancing like crazy all night long, you too would be wondering how your wedding can also be as much fun. Well, that’s easy. Hire Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. We recommend three to three and a half hours of dancing time. It’s the perfect amount as your guests have plenty of time to get their groove on but not too much so the dance floor is either empty or full of those who’ve had a bit too much to drink at the end.
