Our Dueling Pianos Ad!
Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos made their first trip to Kansas City this past New Years Eve for what was sure to be an unforgettable party at Hotel Sorella. There’s no better way to ring in the New Year than with Dueling Pianos!

Actually, there’s no better way to ring in the New Year than at Hotel Sorella. The Kansas City Boutique Hotel (with a sister location in Houston), is a gorgeous place to spend your time in Kansas City. Due to the NYE gig, the management was gracious enough to extend invites to our (Mike Sherman and myself) wives. It’s not often that we get to take our wives out to a fancy hotel, so this was definitely appreciated!
The four of us loaded up a van and made the drive to Kansas City the day before, allowing us to spend a night prior to NYE and see some of Kansas City as well.

New Years Eve Party!
The Hotel Sorella had a beautiful banquet hall that was decked out for New Years Eve. There were two areas in which to celebrate. We had the show set up in the main banquet room, which had a long curved shape and held somewhere around 120 people that evening. Meanwhile, there was also a large foyer through which you entered the banquet hall. This room had high ceilings and large white walls where the staff was projecting video images along with the count down.
This second room was also the location of the DJ who would play during our breaks, and a large net holding balloons for a big “balloon drop” at midnight. There was great energy in the room for the final count down!
The show itself was a blast and lasted till around 1am. And for once, we didn’t have to tear down and drive home that night 🙂
Kansas City BBQ
On the recommendation of my brother in law (LPG), we visited “Joe’s” in Kansas City KS for what he said was the best BBQ…ever.
It’s been featured on Anthony Bourdain, has countless awards, and was phenomenal! I’m not sure how long we waited in line, but by the time we had the food in hand, nothing could have been better at exactly that moment than authentic Kansas City BBQ. Check that one off my bucket list!
