Who doesn’t love a good brewery? Everyone knows they’re the best places for a unique drink, but what what about being married in one? Could you find one with a rich history and beautiful atmosphere? We recently found the answers to those pressing questions when we had the honor of playing a John B Busch Brewery wedding in Washington, Missouri.
John B Busch Brewery Wedding
The venue itself was incredible. It was a historic brewery with most of its original features intact, including exposed brick, old wood pillars, and lots of brewing equipment. The wedding ceremony took place in the exquisite basement and it couldn’t have been more perfect. If you’re planning a wedding, or any kind of special event, the John B Busch Brewery has you covered. After the ceremony, everyone came upstairs for some food. The main course was barbeque, and the caterers really outdid themselves, too. The pork brisket was so good that it was nearly all gone by the time we got to the serving table! Dessert was almost even better. The couple had the great idea to have several smaller cakes, each a different flavor, instead of one big one, talk about variety! There were the classic chocolate and vanilla, but also raspberry and lemon. Our favorite was the German chocolate hands down. There was plenty to drink too. The bride and groom had their own signature cocktails. His was a classic whiskey sour and hers was a mojito with edible glitter swirled in. Even if you weren’t a mojito fan, each glass was just fun to look at!
Can’t Help Falling In Love
When everyone had full stomachs it was time to party! The bride and groom made their grand entrance to Paper Rings by Taylor Swift. This is absolutely one of our favorite new songs, and it’s been becoming insanely popular at weddings! We also had the privilege of playing their first dance, Can’t Help Falling In Love by Elvis. We caught more than one audience member wipe a tear. After that we started taking requests. There was a group request from a bunch of awesome kids for Believe by Imagine Dragons. We also got one from a shy little boy for Hey Jude. The cutest Beatles fan ever! The big finale was a special request from the groom, Friends In Low Places by Garth Brooks. It seemed like a like an insult to us, but who are we to judge? It got the whole dance floor singing along!
