Savoie’s Catering knows just the right way to put on a Louisiana wedding. Walking into the facility, we felt like we were right in the heart of the French Quarter. With its gas lights, wrought iron accents, and brick archways; it really brings the flavor of the Old World New Orleans that we all think of when we think of Louisiana. C’est si belle! After some out of this world southern cuisine–with sweet tea, of course, we were excited to see the traditional French wedding cake, a croque en bouche. This is a tower of petits choux (or cream puffs) and is so delicious. You will sometimes see it spelled as croquembouche. Whatever the spelling, we for sure loved it. The staff had the southern charm on full display as well and took care of every little need with exceptional professionalism. Purple Pianos and a Sparkler Send Off
Our bride, MarthaClaire, loves Harry Potter. So she had to have a lot of Harry Potter decor which included a ton of purple. But that was only one of the reasons she and her groom chose purple for their wedding theme. Can you guess the other reason? Remember, it’s Louisiana so hopefully you guessed LSU. Yes, a purple wedding for LSU Tiger fans is almost common in this part of the country. We even had purple satin covering our pianos and it looked terrific!
As far as the music goes, we couldn’t get away without playing the LSU fight song! And since we felt as if we were in the French Quarter, we had to play Hank William’s Jambalaya (On The Bayou). We saw some great two stepping to that one. Another great classic one has to play when in Louisiana is When the Saints Go Marching In. Whatever region you happen to be in, we will come prepared to play all of the local favorites. We can do it all!
