To begin with, the New Orleans Capulet wedding event took place at a restored warehouse. This warehouse boasted exposed beams, reclaimed barn wood and industrial turn of the century flavor. Our performers, Nate Sangsland and Michael Sherman, brought a high-energy, dueling interactive piano show to a fun loving crowd. Felix and Fingers wish Lilian and Jack a lifetime of love and happiness!

Since Capulet sits on the streets named Dauphine and Montegut, this venue makes for a nice Romeo and Juliet setting. This time with a happy ending! The ceremony took place upstairs on a rooftop terrace with scenic views of New Orleans and the skyline. In all honesty, this New Orleans Capulet wedding event was lucky with the weather. Clear skies and 60 degrees! The officiant was actually very entertaining and made the ceremony comical. A heartfelt and refreshing exchange of vows indeed!
Capulet is known for their fresh and delicious cuisine. Hence, dinner was incredible. This venue had THE BEST bratwurst we’ve ever eaten in our entire life, literally MELTED in our mouths. During this time, our performers played Moondance by Van Morrison, Georgia by Ray Charles and The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. After toasts, and speeches we took a break to enjoy dinner. Mike Sherman DJ’d Post Modern Jukebox versions of Timber and other modern pop tunes as guests dined and mingled. Everyone enjoyed their meal!
New Orleans Traditions and Dancing All Night
A highlight of our evening was singing We Didn’t Start the Fire by Billy Joel and each verse was performed faster and faster. There was a slight hiccup at this party. The drummer for the New Orleans Capulet wedding event gig quit the day of, so finding a replacement for this event was a challenge. Felix and Fingers came through and contracted Jim Breeland to fill-in. Jim did an EXCELLENT job backing us up! Kudos to Felix and Fingers for making this happen!
Our performers had a BLAST with their audience playing songs such as Shout by The Isley Brothers. We also kept the dance floor packed with I Wanna Dance With Somebody by Whitney Houston. In fact, we played classic song requests mixed with new releases, leaving dance moves to the imagination. Lizzo and Cardi B had our audience NUTS. We had the floor bumping and grinding all night long!
After the show, this dance party continued with modern Hip Hop tunes and a quick selection of “Monster Mash” thrown into the mix. Hence, all the dancers were walking around like mummies. Nate and Michael’s last song of the night was Take Me Home Tonight by Eddie Money. Our performers asked everyone to grab a “to-go” beverage and follow the Second Line band to the after party at Mimi’s Bar. We kept this gig running like clockwork. After we packed up, Nate and Michael went and found the bride and groom at Mimi’s and bought them a drink. Congratulations Lilian and Jack!
