There is something about a water view that makes a wedding extra special. And you will find that here at the Owensboro Convention Center. Overlooking the river, this venue has sweeping river views that create an open and inviting feeling. In addition, the room we were in had high ceilings and an outdoor patio. This gave the venue an even more spacious effect.
Owensboro Convention Center manager, Malori, was super helpful in making sure we had everything we needed to provide another great F & F performance. Her professionalism showed and made the night go smoothly for all involved. She even stayed to the very end to help with clean up. We are always very thankful to the venue staff wherever we perform as they can really make or break our job. Fun Wedding Highlights
Party favors are always a nice touch at a wedding. They help your guests to remember your big day long after the event.
In this case, the bride and groom were quite lucky. The bride’s uncle owns a company that produces custom event favors and generously gave the couple some fun stuff to send home with their friends and family. There were these great high-end dish towels and of course, some fun koozies. Great ideas for wedding favors!
Some other highlights from this Owensboro Center wedding were the photo booth and the bouquet toss. There were two photo booths stocked with some great props. Guests could run in, take some silly photos, and get printouts in just minutes. What was so special about the bouquet toss, you must be wondering? Well, not much except that not one of the lovely young ladies made a move for the tossed flowers. We see some cold feet in the future. The crowd thought it was quite hilarious to see the bouquet on the floor and nobody moving to get it. That was a first for us here at F & F.
A Country Wedding
This was truly a country music loving crowd and our performers, Robert and Jim had no problem keeping up with all of those down home requests. Our players know it all! They brought out all of the country hits including the latest such as Get Along by Kenny Chesney and Coming Home by Keith Urban.
But they didn’t forget the classic country tunes either when they played some solid standbys like John Denver’s Take Me Home Country Roads and Patsy Cline’s Walkin’ After Midnight. We love seeing all of the couples out on the dance floor swaying to all of the those old country favorites. Of course, this was definitely a crowd for Garth Brook’s I Got Friends in Low Places. What a classic! Oh, and those photo booth props. They made quite an appearance on the dance floor at the end of the night. It looked like we had a costume party full of dancers!
