What a better place to hold a wedding, car show or your next special event than The Gathering Place in Manchester, Iowa. Owners Don and Kathy McCurdy have transformed an old grocery store into a fabulous, new event center! Felix and Fingers had a blast performing for Jennifer and Randy’s at The Gathering Place wedding!
The Gathering Place Wedding Manchester Iowa
Because Jennifer is a military veteran, Felix and Fingers were honored to perform for her at The Gathering Place wedding. However, Jennifer’s son has been in and out of the hospital recently and the bride and groom accumulated some hospital bills. Initially, Jennifer and Randy booked our show as a solo pianist for The Gathering Place wedding. Therefore, Felix and Fingers found in their heart the funds to pay for another pianist. This was our gift to the bride and groom, Jennifer and Randy expressed heartfelt thanks for our generosity.
As Felix and Fingers set up in The Gathering Place, we noticed this very large area could hold up to 600 people. In fact, if you would like a smaller gathering, there are wall dividers available to partition your event. If you are interested in holding your next special event at The Gathering Place click here.
In addition to a fun filled wedding event, guests enjoyed an array of delicious food catered by Main Street Market. Main Street Market will cater any size event and provide fresh, quality food for your special day. If you are interested in having Main Street Market cater your next event click here.
Fun Request Night
We always love when the crowd comes up with unique and fun requests. For example, the bride and groom requested Piano Man by Billy Joel on the hour, every hour. At one point, we witnessed the largest hand-held circle during a Piano Man performance ever!
Jennifer informed us that years ago she had torn her ACL and broke a bone while dancing to Watch Me by Silento. Because of this we decided to have some fun and brought out a chair so Jennifer could whip and nae nae safely. All in good humor, Jennifer stood up and finished the song on the dance floor with her guests. Felix and Fingers specifically changed the lyrics from “Now break your leg” to “Don’t break your leg”! We had fun with the crowd as one of the requests was instead of clinking glasses for a kiss, guests stood and sang a song with the word “love” in it. Hence, the bride and groom were kissing all night long!
