Felix and Fingers recently dueled at the Iowa State Bank holiday party held in Waverly, Iowa. Because this event was held at the end of January, the Waverly Golf Course kept their decorations up just for the bank. Iowa State Bank Holiday Party
Before guests started arriving, we explored the venue a little bit. We loved the Christmas decorations, especially the row of porcelain Department 59 Christmas houses and village. There had to have been over thirty of them all lined up for guests to admire. Garland was hung around the bar, and we even noticed some mistletoe hanging over one of the doorways. Waverly Golf Course outdid themselves, and the venue was stunning.
For the second year in a row, Iowa State Bank invited us to play for their annual holiday party. Some guests remembered us, but we were pleased to note that there were quite a few new faces as well! Throughout the evening, we got to know the guests and give them a great feature show. Interacting with the crowd is our favorite thing to do, and we did just that not only during drinks and dinner, but also throughout our show.
Community and Dance Floor Involvement
As everyone gathered, a delicious dinner was announced. Staff invited each table up to the buffet and served prime rib and garlic mashed potatoes, much to the guests’ delight. As everyone ate, the CEO talked about the bank’s accomplishments from the past year and mentioned the plan for this coming year’s community outreach projects.
Once the CEO wrapped up his speech, we began our set. Because we brought our summer intern along with us, we started with a couple summer-themed songs and then transitioned to more holiday and contemporary songs. A few guests joined us on the dance floor right away, but we were pleased to see more and more people start dancing as the night went on. By the end of the evening, we had the entire group dancing and singing along. It was a great celebration, and we hope to be invited back next year again!
