Let Felix and Fingers take care of the fun at your next public or private event. That’s exactly what the Iowa Convention Center wedding was all about…FUN! Our performers for the Iowa Convention Center wedding were Greg Percifield and Will O’Keefe. As they packed-up and headed out to Le Mars, Iowa both players were grateful to be given the opportunity to be a part of Kali and Cory’s special day. Felix and Fingers would like to extend our best wishes to the bride and groom!
Le Mars Iowa Convention Center Wedding
During their ceremony, Kali and Cory shared the most beautiful vows to one another. 400 (!!!!) guests witnessed their union, and the celebration was full of beautiful energy and emotion. There were indeed LOTS of happy tears! Kali looked gorgeous strolling down the aisle as we performed a traditional wedding march. Since the ceremony was held in the same room as the reception, little turnaround was needed. In fact, friendly and professional staff were always a step away making sure no details were overlooked. In all honesty, we must say that was the quickest flip in a venue we’ve ever seen! This beautiful facility provided a perfect backdrop for the Iowa Convention Center wedding. The planners at this convention center clearly helped the couple bring their dream wedding to life. For example, cocktail hour was surrounded by elegant florals and beautifully decorated tables that added a charming yet casual feel to the venue. Felix and Fingers set the mood for the fun evening ahead by playing and singing songs such as Sunday Morning by Maroon 5. We also threw in some instrumental jazz allowing for conversation and a mellow vibe. Champagne flowed, butlers passed appetizers and a few guests took a spin on the dance floor. That is to say, a perfect start to an amazing evening!
Cowboy Hats and Bundt Cakes
Have you ever seen a mile long buffet line? We have. A very large and separate buffet room accommodated all 400 guests quickly and smoothly. Furthermore, the options and flavors were endless. In addition to carving stations, a make-your-own baked potato buffet and pasta bar were some of the amazing choices guests enjoyed. Greg and Mike were thankful for their delicious dinner and returned to playing a great variety of instrumental songs allowing for conversation. We always love to see different approaches to dessert tables. Kali and Cory didn’t disappoint with an amazing Bundt table. From the cupcake sized mini Bundts to the Bundt wedding cake everything was Bundtlicious!
It’s the little things that make us happy. Such as Kali giving us a fantastic list of songs she wanted played. Living on a Prayer by Bon Jovi and I Say a Little Prayer for You by Aretha Franklin were two of our favorites to ROCK OUT. Greg and Will decided to start the party with these hits. The crowd went WILD. Our audience did a fantastic job singing along to ALL the songs we played that night. In particular, Will lead everyone through Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and they nailed it. We also received a System of a Down’s Toxicity song request. An odd one for a wedding, yet somehow it made everyone sing LOUDER than any other show we’ve performed at! Before the night ended, one of the groomsmen placed his cowboy hat on Greg’s head during Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band and it just felt right!
