Walker Homestead Wedding Event Iowa City
The Walker Homestead wedding event was held in a BRAND NEW beautiful barn out in Iowa’s countryside. When your guests walk in, they will be floored. This gorgeous, modern space featured heavy wood and white subway tiles on the walls. To begin with, seven years ago, Walker Homestead planted it’s first vines behind their home and since then have grown their own little Napa. Furthermore, you’ll be delighted to know Walker Homestead offers a built-in bar and full service kitchen. If you would like a tour of Walker Homestead please click here.
Our performers for the Walker Homestead wedding event were Greg Percifield and Jennifer Lee Knuth. After a brief ceremony, Walker Homestead opened the barn’s sliding doors so everyone could enjoy some fresh air and a terrific sunset. Our performers played song requests during cocktail hour such as How Sweet it Is by Marvin Gaye and Drunk on You by Luke Bryan. A small group of guests danced, but the bride and groom warned us that the Walker Homestead wedding event was going to be very low-key indeed. Additionally, an amazing staff worked closely to bring this dream wedding to life providing extraordinary food and ambiance.
Sweet Notes and Surprise Speeches
During dinner, the bride and groom allowed anyone who wanted to get up and give a speech to do so. It seemed like whomever had something to say were of sound mind (HAHA!). This made it a fun addition to the night. This homestead offered organic and local culinary delights. Hungry guests enjoyed AMAZING fresh pizzas from a brick oven inside the barn. While everyone enjoyed their meal, our performers played requests such as How Sweet it Is by James Taylor and Marry You by Bruno Mars. We couldn’t be HAPPIER seeing everyone having such a great time!
As the party continued, Felix and Fingers mingled with family and friends performing a dueling piano show to remember. As a matter of fact, our performer Jennifer made a SUPER FAN with a young lady in attendance. This sweet girl requested one of Jennifer’s favorite songs to sing, Dancing on My Own by Calum Scott. After Jennifer performed this song she found the nicest note left on her piano. To be honest, it made Jennifer’s entire year and by the end of the night we found out the young lady was the venue owner’s granddaughter!
At one point of the evening, a very famous jazz pianist showed up and sang a song. We have no idea what his name was, but he sounded amazing! Felix and Fingers ended the night with I Wanna Dance with Somebody by Whitney Houston, even managing to coax a few guests on the floor! Hooray to SUCCESS!
