Felix and Fingers arrived at the Iowa Memorial Union Wedding in Iowa City to perform at a really fun wedding ceremony and reception.  Our performers for the Iowa Memorial Union Wedding were Mike Potts and Katie Pinder Brown. Congratulations Michael and Sarah!

Iowa Memorial Union Wedding Auction

Iowa Memorial Union WeddingHere at the Iowa Memorial Union venue, you will find yourself in the center of campus life.  For your consideration, the Iowa Memorial Union building provides two elegant ballrooms for larger events.  In addition, there are multiple intimate spaces to accommodate events of all sizes.  Furthermore, award winning chefs are available for catering packages and specialty menu options.  An added bonus it that everything at Iowa Memorial Union is tax free!  If you are interested in holding your next event at the Iowa Memorial Union please click here.

Felix and Fingers provided a great selection of instrumental songs for Michael and Sarah’s ceremony.  Besides a beautiful arrangement of ceremonial flowers, the bride and groom exited on a “carpet” constructed of pages from their favorite books.  What a great love story to hear Michael and Sarah dated in college 14 years ago.  Although they split up for awhile, the bride and groom rekindled their relationship and proceeded to tie the knot!

Cow Bells and Two Steps

Iowa Memorial Union WeddingIt’s not every day a family member holds an auction at your wedding.  For example, Sarah’s first cousin is an auctioneer.  Mike and Katie stopped the show mid-dancing so the bride’s cousin from Wyoming could raise some money.  What a neat surprise as the cousin auctioned off a dance for each the bride and groom.  Almost $1,000 went towards the bride and groom’s charitable causes. It was important to realize that Michael is a firefighter.  Mike and Katie were thrilled knowing all the tips were donated to the groom’s fire station and prep school that Sarah founded.

The Iowa Memorial Union Wedding provided delicious late night eats.  For example, attentive staff brought out sliders, fries, popcorn and delicious skillet cookies topped with ice cream.  Another key point at the Iowa Memorial Union wedding was there were guests from Texas and Wyoming.  Mike and Katie had fun performing country two-steps keeping the dance floor packed with happy feet. Furthermore, Felix and Fingers put on a cowbell competition.  Two of the groom’s buddies from the fire house had the crowd cheering them on!  For the last song of the evening, Felix and Fingers performed In Heaven there is No Beer by Ralph Maria Siegel.  Apparently, this is a really popular theme song for the University of Iowa!
