The Iowa City Graduate Wedding took us to the state of Iowa and also introduced us to a new hotel theme. The Graduate hotel is totally themed for the state it is in, in this case Iowa but there are more Graduate Hotels in other states. Read on to find out more about this new, to us, venue.
Iowa City Graduate Wedding Venue
If you’re a Hawkeye fan, this venue is for you. It is decked out with all things related to the University of Iowa and is located right on the Ped Mall, just a twenty minute walk away from Kinnick Stadium. We felt as if we were back in our old college days. Even if you’re not a Hawkeye fan, you are going to love this hotel and its super cool vibe. It has a literary theme with books all over, a great coffee shop, a nice bar, and even a Top Golf suite. What’s more is that they are a great event venue.
The Graduate Iowa City went above and beyond making sure everything turned out just right for the wedding of Kate and Jesse. The catering was delicious and the staff took care of the guests with ease. It was a fun space to play in and believe us, Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos has been in just about every wedding venue imaginable. We had a great time at this Iowa City location and hope to soon check out their other venues. Click here to find out more about this close to campus Iowa city hotel.
With a Groom Named Jesse…
You guessed it. When you have a groom named Jesse, there is one song that for sure will be played and that is Rick Springfield’s Jesse’s Girl. This, of course, came after cocktails and dinner but was one of the first songs requested for the dancing portion of the evening. Speaking of cocktails and dinner, did you know Felix and Fingers can perform a lovely set of instrumental music while your guests dine and mingle? That is just one more thing about hiring the best and most complete wedding entertainment around. We do everything!
This Iowa City Graduate Wedding was a ton of fun for everyone, even the younger set. We had a young man who came up on stage and performed the floss dance. Our performer, Chris, played a drum beat and started going faster and faster to see how quickly he could do the dance. This kid had it down for sure! After that, we had a request for Disney’s Let it Go from Frozen and the interpretive dancing that was happening as a result was quite the thing to watch. Since it was 95 degrees in Iowa City that day, our other performer Jennifer had to play Hot in Herre by Nelly. Don’t worry, no one took their clothes off.
