Felix and Fingers had the time of their life performing at The Tea Room Wedding Celebration. This venue is located in Des Moines, Iowa. The Tea Room is one of our favorite venues. Located on the top level of the old Younkers building, the views are amazing. Felix wishes Laura and Mark a lifetime of love and happiness!
The Tea Room Wedding Celebration Des Moines Iowa
Our performers for this knockout wedding show were Shawn Grindle and Robert Deason. Shawn flew in from Los Angeles to perform at this wedding.
The original Younkers Tea Room, located in the Younkers Department Store, has hosted events since 1913. The Tea Room closed it’s doors in 2005. With lavish fashion shows, fundraisers and parties, this was one happening venue. Oh and by the way, delicious and unique sticky buns were always a hit at this venue.
A fire in 2014 decimated the building. Many feared that this iconic building was forever gone, however, The Tea Room was saved and rehabilitated. The Tea Room’s doors opened once again to the public in 2017. Since then, The Tea Room has upheld its reputation of making guests and hosts feel welcome since day one. Perfectly Cooked Chicken and Special Song Requests
With floor-to-ceiling windows, original and restored ornate plasterwork, stage, dance floor, and Juliet balconies, this was one rocking party. The Tea Room is ideal for large wedding receptions and cocktail parties. The surroundings alone made The Tea Room Wedding Celebration a dream wedding.
Cocktail hour was classy and the appetizers were out of this world. The Tea Room outdid itself with a delicious dinner served by friendly staff. The food was actually fantastic. The Tea Room served perfectly cooked chicken and whipped potatoes. There were also cupcakes instead of cake. All of the flavors looked amazing. We may or may not have enjoyed one or two. They were delicious.
After dinner, the groom requested a special song so he could dance with his grandmother. The song was Isn’t She Lovely by Stevie Wonder. A beautiful moment during The Tea Room Wedding Celebration indeed. Above all, a few groomsmen did a sexy pose-off dance to I’m Too Sexy by Right Said Fred. Our audience went nuts. Backstreet Boys and Brittney Spears were favorite song requests all evening. At the end of the night, everybody surrounded the bride and groom and sang Piano Man by Billy Joel. The love and happiness in this circle was second to none. Another successful wedding celebration in our books!
