For Access Systems in Des Moines, IA, their annual holiday party is a chance to let loose. For Felix and Fingers, it was a challenge to make it the best one Access had seen yet! When we arrived at the Marriott Hotel, we weren’t sure what to expect setting up on a stage in a room with lots of beautifully laid out dinner tables and screens ready for slide shows. After about an hour of background music and a brief break for speeches and awards, we were surprised to find that they’d decided to skip the slide show they were working on to start the party!!
We were ready to answer the call- and boy, was there a lot of calling going on. Visiting Iowa we had a feeling the local fight songs would be worth learning (and were of course requested immediately) but aside from that, it felt like a wedding. Everything from the Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle and Macarena to “What does the Fox Say?” were requested, and even a couple local musical heroes helped us out with some classic rock with the guitar we’d brought for the background music. It took everything we had not to get up and dance with them- (in fact, we did a few times!) This crew came to dance, dance, dance dance. 😉
It was so much fun we didn’t want the night to end! To be able to help coworkers hit the dance floor together and see professionals let loose for a little while was priceless. We felt lucky to be part of it, and would drive that icy farmland-filled drive all over again any time! If you want to bring us to your next event/city/state, let us know. We want to party with you too!
