You can find the Lighthouse restaurant in Cedar Lake, Indiana. Felix and Fingers had not been to this venue yet, even though it is quite close to Chicago, where we do a lot of events. The Lighthouse Restaurant wedding, therefore, is yet another venue that we are now happy to recommend.
Lighthouse Restaurant Wedding
The bar in the downstairs restaurant is built to look like a boat. We loved that people were drinking out on the bow. Such a unique nautical theme. Our show was taking place in the banquet area upstairs and we found it to be an excellent wedding party venue. With fantastic views of Cedar Lake, your guests will love the location. And since the culinary team is led by Chef Ken McRae, you know the cuisine will be awesome too. That’s what we found for sure; it was an excellent dining experience. Our favorite was probably the dessert table with an awesome array of delicious delights. The private dining room can hold up to 250 people but one can also book the downstairs part of the restaurant if a larger space is needed. A Family Affair
We love when all of the family is involved in the wedding. For this Lighthouse restaurant wedding, the bride’s three children played an all trombone version of Pachabel’s Canon as she walked down the aisle. It was absolutely beautiful. The oldest also accompanied us on a couple of songs. We had planned on him playing Stevie Wonder’s Superstition with us. That went so well that we brought him back for Uptown Funk as well as a few others. It was really special that he could be so involved in the wedding and we made sure he wasn’t going to forget this night for a long, long time. Another great family moment came when our Disney nerd performer, Mike S., got to play You’ll Be In My Heart for the mother/son dance. He loves Disney music.
Where Are The Guys?
Strangely, we noticed that there weren’t many gentlemen in the crowd. Well, most of the guests were nurses that work with our bride. While the nursing profession is becoming more and more guy friendly, there are still more females than males. We love the ladies because they are usually the first on the dance floor and the last to leave. So you can imagine the fun that came about with this dance party. The bride and groom had not been expecting much of a dance party so we were happy that we could surpass their expectations. Some of the favorites we played were Maybe I’m Amazed by Wings/Paul McCartney and Bust a Move by Young MC. Our wedding couple had wanted us to play popular dance music, but really they are more into alternative music. Because of that, we made sure to throw in some Foo Fighters right in the middle of our set. No matter the genre, we do it all.
