This fundraising event at the Hall of St. George in Schererville, Indiana was a blast. Sponsored by the Dyer Fraternal Order of Police 169, this was an event to raise money for college scholarships. So Felix and Fingers was happy to provide the entertainment for the Dyer PD Policeman’s Ball.
Dyer PD Policeman’s Ball
There were a ton of green dresses at this fundraiser put on by the Dyer Police Department. In addition to the lovely girls’ dresses, there were also quite a few men in kilts. How appropriate for the theme of “An Irish Wedding.” This was a large event with over 300 people and what a fun group they were! You can find out more about the Dyer Fraternal Order of Police by checking out their Facebook page right here.
Before dinner, the crowd all watched as a handsome man in his kilt asked a lovely lass to be his bride. This was real, not just part of the theme and she said, “Yes!” We then had cocktails followed by dinner. All of the officers donned their dress uniforms until the dinner was finished. That was also quite a sight. Next, Felix and Fingers provided the entertainment portion of the evening and fun was had by all.
We kicked off the night with a live version of Wonderful Tonight by Eric Clapton. The song was dedicated to Shane and his wife and all of the policemen and their wives were invited to join them on the dance floor. Another highlight of the evening was when a young girl in green, Taylor, accompanied our performer, Chris, for Grease’s Summer Nights. It was a great duet. The crowd formed a spontaneous circle of love when Greg sang Piano Man by Billy Joel. Certainly a crowd favorite.
Halls of St. George
The Dyer Policemen chose the Halls of St. George for their event and we could see why. This venue has three separate ballrooms which can be configured to accommodate up to 1000 guests. In addition, they have their own European chef and the food truly lived up to the expectations. It was a spacious, gorgeous property and we would recommend it for any of your upcoming events.
