An excellent venue, an excellent staff, and an excellent crowd filled the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center Wedding in Lombard, Illinois. Felix and Fingers had the opportunity to perform at this lovely wedding in one of the ballrooms of this venue and we hope to be back! Westin Lombard Yorktown Center Wedding
This ballroom and venue are located inside the Lombard Yorktown Shopping Center. It is one of three ballrooms that can hold over 250 guests. They had a long table situated right near the dance floor for the bridal party with circle tables around the rest of the room for the guests. Before everyone entered, the crowd gathered for drinks outside the ballroom in the hallway at nice high-boy tables. After a little while, they opened the doors to let the guests in, which gave off a very elegant effect. Felix and Fingers really enjoyed this space and appreciated the helpful staff as well.
Dancing All Night Long
This particular Westin Lombard Yorktown Center Wedding took place on New Year’s Eve, which was a complete blast! We previously played for other couple’s weddings within the bridal party. These folks recommended us to their friends, and so we got to interact with this particular group of friends for the third time! It was really cool to see their love through each other through their speeches and toasts. In particular, the best man gave a memorable speech, where he read fake entries from the groom’s journal. Once they had finished the speeches, we moved on to the first dance songs. We went out of the traditional order, starting with the slower songs first, and ending with the father and daughter dance to “Brown Eyed Girl” and at the end of the song, they invited everyone else out on the dance floor to join them.
After that, the dance floor was packed all night long. Guests couldn’t stop dancing, singing, moving and grooving. We loved seeing the bride and groom tearing up the dance floor almost the entire night! Being that it was New Year’s Eve, the couple requested to enter the new year to Michael Jackson’s “Will You Be There”. What a special moment to share with all the guests and couples once the clock struck midnight every one cheered and kissed their loved ones. By the end of the night, everyone was tuckered out from all the dancing but left with a smile on their face. A great evening and a great venue all around. We hope to be back at this lovely venue one day soon!
