Felix and Fingers took a great country drive out to Sycamore, Illinois to play for this St Mary Memorial Hall Wedding. It was a fun day filled with small town charm, farmers, and pigs. Yes, pigs were a big part of this wedding as were frat boys. We never know what’s going to happen at one of our gigs and that makes our job more than interesting. Read on!
St Mary Memorial Hall Wedding
The Church of St. Mary in Sycamore, Illinois has a wonderful memorial hall for all of your banquet needs. This is highly important for the community as there aren’t a lot of options in a town of this size. With it’s spacious size and pitched ceiling, it has a vast feeling that is large enough for just about any event. It is available for weddings, corporate events, private parties and other options. What’s really cool is that it is staffed by the parents of St. Mary’s students. Pigs and Pant-less Frat Boys
Since the groom was a pig farmer, this was a pig themed wedding. That’s a first for Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos. Whenever we say we’ve seen it all, something else comes up to make us eat our words. Besides the cute pig accents, the Memorial Hall looked gorgeous with gold and white decor. One would have thought the pig decor would be tacky, but this hall dresses up with quite a sophisticated feel. Even the bridal party entrance song was farm themed. This group had one fantastic opening with The Farmer and the Cowhand Must be Friends from the musical “Oklahoma.”
We also had another first for Felix and Fingers. Two in a night! Unheard of! But yes, it happened. A bunch of fraternity brothers requested the song American Pie from Don McLean. When we played it, they all took off their pants, put their arms around each other and stayed that way for the whole song. Yes, that was a first for us and we have no idea how that traditions started amongst this group but hey, whatever makes our customers happy makes us happy. We’re always up for a great time. This wedding was no exception and the dancing became wilder and crazier as the night wore on. Dance tunes from the 1980’s ruled the night and everyone hit the floor for songs like Push It by Salt-N-Pepa 
and Madonna’s Into the Groove. What a fun night it was at this St Mary Memorial Hall Wedding!
