One of Felix and Fingers favorite shows was at the Firefighters Postal Lake Club wedding in Springfield, Illinois. We perform at many unique venues and to tell the truth this location, with it’s history, blew us out of the water! If you are considering your next event at a renovated 1940’s firehouse we actually have the perfect venue for you. Congratulations Lindsay and Bill!
Firefighters Postal Lake Club Wedding Springfield
Felix and Fingers packed up their show and headed out to Springfield, Illinois for the Firefighters Postal Lake Club wedding on a beautiful summer day. This venue has a really cool location on Lake Springfield. In fact, the fire department burnt down this postal club in 2001 to make way for a new building. A friendly staff greeted us at the club hall entrance and helped with our load in. If you are interested in touring the Firefighters Postal Lake Club please click here.
Our performers for the Firefighters Postal Lake Club wedding were Duncan and Robert. 250 guests looked on while the bride and groom exchanged vows in front of a gold and white decorated pergola. We played a traditional wedding march as the bride entered the hall. What is more, the couple’s twin boys were the ring bearers and their best friend officiated the ceremony! The Firefighters Postal Lake Club wedding guests had a choice of enjoying their dinner inside or outdoors under the pavilion. In addition to a traditional wedding cake there were amazing cupcakes from Specialty Cakes which is a local bakery. If you would like more information on Special Cakes please click here.
Dancing, Singing and Happiness
It wasn’t long before dinner was over and the Firefighters Postal Lake Club staff cleared the room for dancing. To begin with, Robert and Duncan brought tears to guest’s eyes as Father and Daughter by Paul Simon was played for the first dance. Felix and Fingers wasted no time after the first dance finished packing the floor with songs such as In Da Club by 50 Cent and Crazy in Love by Beyonce feat. Jay Z. And who can resist a great sing along such as Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrill? Not this crowd. They sang their hearts out!
Above all, Robert and Duncan finished their show with an awesome rendition of Piano Man by Billy Joel. In fact, everyone came together surrounding the bride and groom in a circle of love while swaying and singing to this song. It was the perfect way to close out the Firefighters Postal Lake Club wedding!
