With the busy and stressful lives many of us lead today, it’s important to remember to schedule some fun for ourselves. The hardworking students at the UIC College of Pharmacy at Rockford took that to heart with a “welcome back” event at the beginning of their first semester. Franchesco’s Ristorante in Rockford offered the perfect setting for a night out, and Felix and Fingers was thrilled to take the stage in their beautiful “Frank’s Room” to provide the entertainment!
Franchesco’s Ristorante
Franchesco’s Ristorante isn’t just an amazing Italian restaurant! Walking in we noticed immediately the variety of mini-venues the place offered for a variety of events. There is a Wine Room for intimate private dining, a Corporate Room which appears to be the best possible place on earth to have a meeting (and a meal!) and even a Grand Ball Room… perfect for weddings! Felix and Fingers is primarily known for our prestigious wedding services, but on this Wednesday night in January, our trip to Franchesco’s Ristorante was strictly business. 😉

Frank’s Room
Franchesco’s Ristorante actually offers a total of 8 gorgeous spaces for various events, and the night we were there Greg and I got to experience Frank’s Room. For this event, Franchesco’s offered buffet style catering which was perfect for this kind of event. We could tell the students of UIC were there to let loose, so it was nice to have the option not to be confined to a traditional dining setting. The room is absolutely beautiful, but also lends itself to a more relaxed evening of fun; we were happy to match that atmosphere with our show!
With a Felix and Fingers show, you never see the same show twice! Similarly, we never know what we’re going to be playing till we get there. As it turned out, the students we were playing for were big fans of 90’s pop music… we even had a couple unlikely superstars come up and help us with songs like “The Real Slim Shady!” It was so cool to walk into a beautiful room wondering if we’d get all jazz requests, and then ending the night with a dance circle around their break-dancing classmates.
