The Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation brought out Felix and Fingers Dueling Pianos for their most recent fundraiser to support Cystic Fibrosis. This event at Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria IL was their inaugural event to support a cause very close to Colton’s heart. It was our honor to be involved!
Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation
The Colton Underwood Legacy Foundation raises money for Cystic Fibrosis research and provides support to people living with CF. Harper, Colton’s cousin, was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth and has been a huge catalyst for this foundation being launched in 2015. Along with his athletic camps for local kids, Colton has really taken some huge steps to make a difference.
Legacy Foundation Fundraiser
The fundraiser was staged at the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria, a venue we’ve performed at many times. With about 200 people in a room decked out in purple decor, the stage was set for a great night. The Legacy foundation provided a great dinner, heart felt presentation about the cause, and of course, a rocking dueling pianos show!
We have some fun games that we play with our crowds to get them involved in the show, many of which involve some sort of physical aspect. This can get a little more interesting when the guest list includes NFL Tight End Colton Underwood and a bunch of his football friends. At one point while I was on the dance floor hosting a challenge, I found myself sandwiched between two 6’4+ football players with no escape. At about 6′, I don’t consider myself short, but at that moment there was no doubt as to why they play football and I play piano.
Par-A-Dice Casino
This is easily one of our favorite Peoria venues. We’ve played at their different banquet halls, the restaurant lounge, roulette tables…it’s a great venue. The facilities are well kept and the staff is always professional. And how can you beat an afterparty at a casino – it’s a win/win, well, unless you lose. Definitely check out the Par-A-Dice Casino for your next event!
Colton Underwood
Quick comment on Colton. At 24 years old, what he’s organized is beyond admirable. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing and performing for a few NFL players, but Colton’s humility and joy for life was truly outstanding. He’s doing great work with a big heart and it’s obvious that he truly cares about making an impact.
We wish him all the best with his foundation, this year’s football season, and of course, any upcoming dates with olympic gymnast Aly Raisman! Go get her Colton!
