Would you love a backyard wedding? Felix and Finger’s solo performer, Mike, recently performed at Malari and Mark’s backyard wedding in Belvidere, Illinois. And what a beautiful wedding it was.
Malari and Mark’s Backyard Wedding
Guests arrived into the backyard through a heart lined 
walkway and under a draped trellis into the party. This set the mood for a lovely evening full of fun, singing, dancing, and laughter. The decor and table settings were simply tasteful with light pink, gold, and cream accents. The marriage ceremony had taken place a couple of days before so it was a small affair just for Malari and Mark’s family and close friends. And the weather cooperated by providing an amazing summer day with the smell of BBQ and the soothing sounds of the pool water splashing in the background.
Fun evening for all
Guests had a blast shouting out requests for Felix and Finger’s Mike to play and sing. The groom’s first request was “Walking on the Sun” by Smashmouth, a favorite of the performer. The intimate nature of the reception allowed the guests to feel comfortable shouting out their favorites. Mike kept up the pace by playing as many requests as time allowed. It was an awesome time.The singing and dancing lasted well into the evening. Everyone let loose, including the bride who, wedding dress and all, ended up jumping into the swimming pool. In her defense, our 
performer had been instructed to get the bride drunk enough so she would sing with him but, fortunately or unfortunately–depending on your view, that never happened. Perhaps the dip in the pool had cooled her wild side.
The bride and groom loved their small reception. Malari and Mark’s outdoor wedding had a very casual, chill atmosphere. So many weddings are such large affairs. The wedding couple can end up exhausted by the end of it all. But here, the ease of planning, the wonderfully fun entertainment, and the love of their guests made this wedding reception one where all could relax and enjoy each other’s company. What a wonderful way to spend an evening.
