The Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca, Illinois was the location for the Lutheran Social Services Spring Fling. This property was the perfect setting with its beautifully decorated main ballroom. Felix and Fingers felt honored to be a part of such a wonderful occasion.

This wasn’t our first time at the Westin Chicago Northwest in Itasca and we’re sure it won’t be our last. This is an excellent venue. For starters, the staff here is superb. We have seen them tackle crowds large and small and they do it with professionalism and ease. Following that, you will love the catering services. For the Lutheran Social Services Spring Fling, we enjoyed a delicious lunch of roasted chicken and mushroom risotto which was divine. It isn’t easy preparing a banquet chicken dish that is mouthwatering juicy and delicious but this professional crew certainly knows how to do it right. Finally, the accommodations are beautifully decorated and spacious making this the perfect choice for so many different occasions. Lutheran Social Services Spring Fling
The Lutheran Social Services hired us to entertain their donors and members for this fundraising event. The purpose of the fundraiser was to raise money to support children with mental illnesses. We do a lot of fundraisers at Felix and Fingers 
Dueling Pianos and help raise money for so many different causes. This was definitely one we were proud to be a part of. The means of raising funds was a bit different for this event. There were 200 separate envelopes and guests were encouraged to choose one. Inside that envelope was an amount and that was the amount that the person was supposed to donate. The total amount of these envelopes added up to $20,000. Yes, that’s a great amount but with this group, it was easily accomplished.
This was one of the more tame events we have done, which is never a problem for us. First of all, it was a luncheon so not so much a party crowd like the nighttime shows we do. Secondly, it was mostly women there to have lunch and listen to the program so getting wild on the dance floor wasn’t part of the agenda. We put on a great show that included hits from all types of genres and multiple decades. We had a lot of clapping and singing along to the Grease soundtrack compilation as well as Rick Springfield’s Jessie’s Girl. Bette Midler’s Wind Beneath My Wings was also a touching hit. It was a lovely afternoon with this group at the Lutheran Social Services Spring Fling and we hope to play for them again someday.

We knew this engagement was a success because at the end of our show, we were approached by quite a few ladies who asked for our business card. They all said that they had children planning upcoming weddings and they could really see our show as a huge addition to their children’s special days. What a great compliment!
