Have I mentioned that now is the time for school fundraisers? This dueling pianos fundraiser went to support Butler Elementary and was hosted at Broken Arrow Golf Course in Lockport IL. Chris and I took the stage to raise some money for a small and mighty crowd!

Broken Arrow was a lovely golf course with a great reception hall for this fundraising event. With a built-in bar at the back of the room and a perfect space for the 100+ people in attendance, we really enjoyed playing this venue. And the staff couldn’t have been more friendly! Though it’s always fun when members approach us while setting up asking for piano tips. Our usual go-to line about how long we’ve played piano? “Oh, I watched.a few YouTube videos this week.” It’s usually good for a laugh!
Butler Elementary
Playing for school teachers will always feel strange to me. There’s something about spending the first 20+ years of your life in reverence of teachers, and then finding yourself at a similar age and suddenly able to see them as real people. And dare I say it…we can even swear in front of them without receiving detention. Between that and putting on a show where we can encourage them to grab drinks, playing for teachers is always surreal. But this crowd was great!

Tip Guarantee
Chris and I had set an ambitious goal to raise money for the school. F&F often offers tip guarantees for our fundraisers. Since we claim to be the best choice for fundraisers, it only makes sense to back that up with a guarantee. We have a blog about this offer, but to simply, we’ll guarantee to donate 100% of our tips back to the fundraiser, and if we don’t hit our target, we’ll personally make up the difference. Tonight we had an unusually high guarantee for the number of guests, but in detoured, were easily able to exceed our goal and help make a difference for this school.
