Dueling Pianos made it’s way over to Lake Barrington Shores in Lake Barrington Il for a sold out show put on for the residents. Just north of Barrington, Lake Barrington Shores is a gated condominium community on 500+ acres.

Oddly enough, one of our performers’ mother lives in this community (we’ll let you guess which!). Though I’d heard about the grounds, I was impressed while driving to “The Lodge”. Driving through gave me a nostalgic feeling of going camping. Something about the facilities, the condos, and the natural setting really made me feel like I wasn’t in the Chicago suburbs. The relaxed atmosphere was truly a welcomed surprise.

We’d been informed by a few staff members about the recent renovations made to The Lodge, and rightfully so! This building was immaculate from floor to ceiling. Aside from a great banquet hall perfect for an intimate dueling pianos show, they had other lounges, game rooms, library, gym, etc. The venue was great, and better yet, the load in was almost as easy as it gets!

This was a ticketed event for Shores Residents, one that had sold out. Starting with dinner and an open bar, our dueling pianos show took the stage after the dessert had been served. The crowd was great and we had a blast. The classic sing alongs were definitely a hit, but so were the slow dances for all the people still feeling the effects of Valentines day from the weekend prior.
Our audience for this event was more mature than our usual weddings or public events, which was actually a welcomed change. Getting to focus on the classic piano bar tunes along with some of the timeless jazz standards takes us back to our roots. It was truly an enjoyable show for us and a great reminder that our show is adaptable to any audience!
